Richard Scanlan, MD, FCAP, joined Oregon Health Sciences University (OHSU) in 2001 after 15 years in private practice. He is currently a professor of pathology and Director of Transfusion Medicine with a clinical focus on cytopathology and transfusion. He served on the CAP Board of Directors from 2019 to 2024 and during that time was Chair of the College of American Pathologist’s Council on Accreditation. Currently, he serves on the International Accreditation Committee and is an International Assigning and Regional Commissioner for the Pacific Northwest.
Dr. Scanlan can speak on transfusion safety and laboratory testing.
