Kim H Allison, MD, FCAP, is the Vice Chair of Education, Director of Breast Pathology and Professor of Pathology at Stanford University School of Medicine. She is engaged in standards and guidelines in breast cancer through her work on the CAP/ASCO Hormone Receptor and HER2 Testing in Breast Cancer Guidelines, the CAP Cancer Committee, as well as a breast panel expert for the NCCN, AJCC, ICCR and WHO. She created and directs the Stanford Breast Pathology Fellowship. Dr. Allison has also experienced “the other side of the microscope” as a breast cancer patient; an experience which inspired her to publish her memoir, “Red Sunshine,” and advocate for public awareness of pathology’s role in cancer care.
