Dr. Eric Glassy is a community pathologist in Southern California and Director of Pathology at Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center, San Pedro. He is a member of Affiliated Pathologists Medical Group, a 40-person independent pathology group covering 15 hospitals and laboratories in California, Portland, and Phoenix. He has won a number of pathology awards including the Distinguished Service Award and Excellence in Education Award from the College of American Pathologists. Dr. Glassy has chaired hospital and CAP national committees and has served as chairman of the Hematology and Clinical Microscopy, Publications, Digital Pathology, Curriculum Committees and the Council of Membership and Professional Development.
He is currently chair of the Information Technology Leadership Committee. He edited, wrote and illustrated five pathology color atlases published by the CAP and developed software programs for pathology reporting, outreach, and practice management. He holds a green belt in Six Sigma. Dr. Glassy is a former Governor of the CAP and past president of the Digital Pathology Association. He is currently a trustee of the American Board of Pathology.
Dr. Glassy received his medical degree from the University of California, San Francisco and did his pathology residency and hematopathology fellowship at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center.
