Health Care Industry Veteran Joins the College of American Pathologists as Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing

Mary de Sousa, Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing

NORTHFIELD, Ill.—With over 25 years of marketing, sales and general management experience in the medical device industry, Mary de Sousa brings to the College of American Pathologists (CAP) a deep understanding of the rapidly changing health care landscape from a financial and commercial standpoint.

In her new role as the CAP’s senior vice president of sales and marketing, de Sousa plans to “drive business growth by empowering teams, unleashing innovation and building commercial capabilities to best serve the CAP’s pathologist members and laboratory customers and to ensure they are equipped and supported to deliver the highest quality care to their patients.”

Throughout her career, de Sousa has supported physicians in delivering excellent patient outcomes. “The pathologist is at the core of patient care. I am excited to be a part of a team that delivers high-value products and services that enhance the practice of pathology,” says de Sousa.

de Sousa previously held global marketing, sales and general management leadership roles in C.R. Bard, Cardinal Health, CareFusion, Ansell Protective Solutions and, most recently, provided marketing and strategy services through her own consulting firm. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in comparative government and Chinese studies from Oberlin College, and a Master of International Management from Thunderbird School of Global Management.
