Glenn Ramsey, MD, FCAP, chair of the CAP transfusion, apheresis and cellular therapy committee and Professor of Pathology at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine, joins Click2Houston to explain the current blood shortage and share what can be done to restore the blood supply. "Is you are feeling well and at least 110 pounds and 16 years of age, those are some of the criteria for donating," explains Dr. Ramsey. "The donors are asked questions about their safety, to themselves and the possible recipients, to then donate."
