Northfield, Ill. (December 10, 2025) — The College of American Pathologists (CAP) has received the 2025 CommImpact Award for Innovative Content Strategy from OnWrd & UpWrd. The honor celebrates associations that excel in content quality, audience engagement, multimedia integration, distribution strategy, and measurable impact.
The CAP earned recognition for its multi-channel content strategy, blending timely updates, targeted email campaigns, platform-specific social media, video, and podcasts. One example was following a federal court decision vacating the FDA’s laboratory-developed tests rule. The CAP launched a coordinated campaign across email, web, and social channels within 45 minutes, delivering tailored updates to members and laboratory partners and reinforcing trust and leadership in the field.
The award also highlights the CAP’s innovative storytelling, including the forthcoming Case Encounters podcast series, which uses cinematic audio and immersive sound design to dramatize real medical cases. Combined with refreshed visuals, stronger member imagery, and data-driven targeting, these efforts have expanded reach, strengthened engagement, and showcased the critical role of pathologists in delivering accurate, lifesaving diagnostics.
The honor was formally announced during OnWrd & UpWrd’s live presentation earlier today. Watch the official announcement here.
