Release Date: 16 Feb 2026
Case Encounters

NORTHFIELD, Ill. (February 16, 2026) —Step into the quiet corners of the medical world where the stakes are high, the clues are microscopic, and every diagnosis begins with a mystery. The College of American Pathologists (CAP) has introduced Case Encounters, an eight‑episode, audio‑theatre podcast that transforms real pathology cases into immersive, radio‑drama-style stories.

From rare cancers to perplexing infections, each episode is rooted in a real case submitted by CAP members and brought to life through the investigative work pathologists perform in their laboratories. Every role is portrayed by a practicing pathologist, which gives the series a level of authenticity rarely heard in medical storytelling.

Designed for healthcare‑curious listeners, including fans of true crime and medical mysteries, the podcast blends classic audio‑theatre atmosphere with real diagnostic reasoning. Complex science becomes accessible and engaging through vivid storytelling. CAP members whose cases inspired episodes are credited in the show notes.

More than entertainment, Case Encounters demonstrates how healthcare organizations can meet audiences where they are by using storytelling to strengthen understanding of and trust in the diagnostic process.

All eight episodes of Case Encounters are available now on Apple PodcastsSpotify, and Ausha

Case Encounters is a fictionalized podcast series inspired by real pathology case studies. Names and locations have been changed to protect privacy.
