Keisha Davis, MD, FCAP, comments on the link between monkeypox and heart inflammation. “They haven’t yet revealed all that this person had, but I’m sure they will. They’ve just said that they died in this area,” says Dr. Davis. “The autopsy will tell us a lot more of the story, but that will take a couple of weeks. For instance, if there was inflammation of the brain, we usually let it sit for a few days before we do it. Just the brain alone can take three to five days.”
